Ahhh—springtime is almost here. We sense it, especially as we spring ahead to Daylight Savings Time! And what is the one word that seems synonymous with Spring?
There are so many things to clean—closets, attics, basements, kids’ old toys and clothes, cars, and the list goes on and on. After your spiritual Lenten “cleanse,” it’s a perfect time to focus on another very important cleanse—your internal organs, particularly the liver. Just as our cars need regular oil changes and tune-ups to run smoothly and perform optimally each day, so do our organs. But most people don’t give that much thought.
We’re living in a different world than in which we grew up. Never before have we been bombarded with so many different toxins—they come at us from every direction in every aspect of our lives, every single day. Pesticides, plastics, antibiotics, growth hormones, food additives, air pollution, and even, believe it or not, your non-stick cookware. They all dump their junk into our systems…and what bears the brunt of it? You guessed it—your liver. Think of the liver as a filter. If we load it up with too much junk, it just won’t be working at optimal capacity and those toxins can back up and build up. If we don’t take the time to cleanse internally, we will surely suffer the consequences sooner or later.
Many people already experience the “warning” signs of toxic overload, but do not make the connection as to why they have symptoms such as:
- Chronic Fatigue
- Bloating/Abdominal Discomfort
- Brain Fog/Lack of Concentration
- Hormonal Imbalances
- Sugar Cravings
