Ok, now that’s straight out of the Bible, but how many of us can truly say from our hearts that we believe it? Sure, in theory we all agree but when it comes to your own life circumstances, do you buy it?
When the Archangel Gabriel appeared to Mary, he told her a couple of impossible things…she would conceive without a man and bear the Son of God and that her cousin Elizabeth, advanced in age and considered barren was pregnant- in her 6th month. Mary believed and took off immediately to help Elizabeth. Sure, she inquired as to how it would occur for her, but not if it would.
Now, I know what you’re thinking…if God sent an angel to me with news, I’d have an easier time believing too. It’s the unknown, those times when things seem impossible and heaven is silent that can really challenge us.
Again, let’s look to Mary. She went to visit Elizabeth for three months. What about Joseph? Is he going to believe this? After all, it’s a lot to swallow! Clearly he didn’t, since he decided to divorce her quietly, and I can only imagine her distress. Not only could it cause some anxiety and uncertainty for her future, but her sensitive heart would have ached for what Joseph must have been experiencing. This had to be one painful trial for him and Mary would have known that. Yet, she waited and trusted and God intervened and enlightened Joseph in a dream.
What are you struggling with? What seems impossible in your life? Believe there’s an answer. If you don’t believe it, then you certainly won’t do all you need to do to find it. Why would anyone look for something that they don’t believe exists? (And yes, we are expected to participate in finding solutions.) And if you don’t believe, even if the answer is presented to you, you may miss it. I’ve seen many people short circuit their success by having the wrong attitude. Eliminate the words “can’t” and “impossible” from your vocabulary. “For nothing shall be impossible for God.”
Let Him prove it to you!
